College Arts are inviting artist Lydia Cecil back to the studio for a day of still life painting. Still life painting allows us to experiment and push our understanding of the medium. We will look at how to mix colours, create textures and most importantly, how to make the objects we paint visually exciting. In other words, how to create the life in something supposedly ‘still’. Suitable for all abilities – whether experienced painter or the first time with oils – the ideas we explore are relevant to everyone. Lydia will provide brief demonstrations and individual tuition throughout the day.
